We are excited to announce that the Hurricane Archery season will begin on Monday, October 1, 2018! Prior to the season we are hosting an Explore Archery Camp for any new student interested in joining our program. All returning archers will attend an Evaluation. See below for details.
We provide all equipment necessary for evaluations and the season. The Genesis Original bow is the only bow allowed for the NASP (National Archery in the Schools Program); therefore, if your student desires to use his/her own personal bow, it will need to be that model with no modifications. Explore Archery 2 Day Camp (required to join program):
Archers are not required to have any prior shooting experience and all equipment is provided.
Monday - September 10th and 11th - 6:15 PM Check-in - 8:30 PM
Parents are required to attend September 10th from 6:30 PM - 7:00 PM

Our intent is to announce the elementary (4th & 5th grades), middle school (6th – 8th grade) and high school (9th – 12th grade) divisions by Saturday, September 14th.
Archery season will run from October 1st – May 11th. The season will officially end after participation at Nationals.
Archers will condition from October - December with several local (in-house) tournaments during that time. Competitive season will run from January - May 11th.
Practices will be held on Monday and Thursday nights from 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. We will have many Saturday practices but these will not be used to meet the required weekly practices. All archers are required to meet a minimum of one practice weekly with the commitment to also practice at home with their string bow exercises and/or shoot at home for the second practice of the week.
After registration, parents will be provided with an Information Packet that will include details of what is accepted as permitted excuses, vacations and emergency absences.
Because we are a competitive team under NASP, if archers qualify, we will participate in a minimum of the following tournaments:
February - Regionals (Anderson)
March - State (SC)
May - Nationals (KY)
The above tournaments are always held on a weekday. In-house/local tournaments are held on Saturdays. The season schedule will be released upon registration.
Locations and dates are subject to change based on SCDNR & NASP.
Cost and Registration:
Online registration will run from September 15th September 21st.
Instructions will be sent out via email once division selections are announced. All archers will need to provide a current sports physical (within 1 year) and copy of birth certificate to participate in the season.
Birth certificates, physicals and cash/check payments will be due at Orientation on 9/24/2018.
The cost for the archery season will be $275 per archer. This includes cost of shooter jersey. For those families that would benefit from a payment plan, information is below. Please note that if you choose the payment plan, all post-dated checks are due on September 24.
Payment Plan - $125.00 at registration / $75 post-dated 10/29/2018 / $75 post-dated 11/26/2018.
Mandatory Team/Parent Orientation: September 24th from 6PM – 7:30PM
