TIME FOR CHEERLEADING TRYOUTS - GIRLS AND GUYS!!
Why Cheerleading?
One of the goals of our team is to break barriers. I cannot brag enough on the members of last year's cheerleading squad---they have already done this! The Hurricanes Cheerleading Squad is not the stereotypical cheer team. It is a team made up of members who support, encourage, bring out the best in each person and treat each other like family. We want to restore the true spirit of cheerleading. It is a co-ed sport that requires various levels of athleticism and enthusiasm found in both males and females. Whether you've been on a cheer team or not, you have done some form of cheering at a game or watching from home.
(If you are a male and undecided, please see the link below on "Male Cheerleading".)

Fun Fact: Cheerleading was an all-male sport when it first began in 1877. The first woman was allowed on the team in 1923 but women were not recognized in the sport until the 1940's)
