Hurricane Athletics offers a Cross Country program in the fall of the school year, to athletes 6th to 12th grades.  The program is open for all home schooled students, as well as traditionally schooled students whose school does not provide a cross country program. Winter and Spring conditioning season are also offered.


It’s Time for Cross-Country Spring Conditioning!!

We are excited to announce the upcoming spring conditioning for Hurricane Cross-Country! You can find all the information below, and please do not hesitate to e-mail with any questions.
What are the dates/times for conditioning?  Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 14 - May 25, 3:30-5:00 pm  (no practice on April 11 and 13)
Where will we be conditioning? Taylors First Baptist Baseball Field (130 Taylors Road, Taylors, SC) Park at Taylors First Baptist Baseball Field / Meet at the lower lot picnic shelter.
Who is eligible?  Male and female athletes who will be in 6th through 12th grades in the 2017/2018 school year.
What do I need to bring?  

  • Copy of birth certificate (if you haven’t participated in Hurricane Athletics previously)
  • Copy of physical (cannot be older than May of 2016)
  • Good quality running shoes - We recommend you get fitted at a local running store (Greenville Running Company, Run In or Fleet Feet). Most will offer discounts.
  • Yoga mat or towel for exercises
  • Water bottle

What is the cost for conditioning? $45 for the first runner / $35 for sibling runners
Are there any volunteer requirements? Parents will be required to volunteer 2-3 times during the conditioning season from 3:30 pm until the last runner is picked up
Will we be involved in any 5K races? There will be an optional 5K race on May 6, 2017 @ 6:30 pm. This will be the Swamp Rabbit 5K. You will need to register for the race individually - Early bird registration for this race is $6 through the end of April (includes shirt); price goes up to $15 April 30 - May 4.

How can I register for the conditioning season? Registration will open Thursday, February 16th at 8:00 am. Registration will remain open until March 7.

You must be registered online to participate.
Initial Meeting - Runners and their parents are requested to be at a brief meeting on March 14 at 3:30 pm at the Taylors Ball Field to go over coach expectations, parent sign-up for volunteer dates and collection of physicals, birth certificates and payment.
